2022 Nissan Almera: Now available in the Philippines

Updated on December 23 2024

Nissan just keeps on rolling this 2021. It hasn't even been a month since they launched the heavily facelifted Terra, they're launching yet another car.

That car is one of Automart.PH's popular models, the Almera. So, what are the highlights of this fully redesigned and re-engineered subcompact sedan? Let's take a closer look.

Exterior

For its exterior, gone is the round and egg-like shape of the previous-generation Almera. This time around, it looks sharper and more aggressive, drawing inspiration from the Sylphy and Altima sold abroad. It's also a few inches longer and much wider than the model it replaces. That means you can expect more room inside as well.

Interior

Another radical departure for the Almera is the interior. Again, it sheds most of the ovals and circles seen in the older version. The cabin features a sportier, more minimalist theme. Not only that, it has a much larger touchscreen that's bang up to date. Materials are also said to feel much more premium than the outgoing version. , among other things.

Features

The Almera is the first in its class to offer a 360-degree view camera standard.  It also comes with active safety features previously unseen in its segment. It includes automatic emergency braking for the front, along with rear cross traffic alert and blind spot warning. A partially digital instrument panel is standard. All models are fitted with a touchscreen and it's also available with Apple CarPlay and Andoid Auto. Stability control is also standard across the range.

Engine

From now on, the Almera only comes with one engine option. It's a new 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo that makes 100 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque. Nissan finally got rid of the old-school four-speed automatic and replaced it with a far more efficient continuously variable transmission (CVT). A five-speed manual is also available. If you choose the manual, the torque rises from 152 Nm to 160 Nm.

Price

Prices and variants of the 2022 Nissan Almera are as follows:
Almera EL M/T: PHP 728,000
Almera VE M/T: PHP 938,000
Almera VE CVT: PHP 998,000
Almera VL N-Sport CVT: PHP 1,098,000

Yes, it's quite a big jump from the old prices, but you have to remember that's it's been fully redesigned and re-engineered from the ground up. Do you think it's worth it?
