Peugeot PH roars into 2022 with new 3008
Updated on October 15 2024
Peugeot isn't a name that most Pinoys think about when it comes to European cars. However, the French automaker wants to change that in the country by introducing the new 3008 crossover. It competes higher-end of the crossover segment. Main competitors include the Subaru Forester, Honda CR-V, and Toyota RAV4.
The design of the new 3008 boasts a unique grille treatment, slim headlights, and slim, upright LED daytime running lights. As for the sides, it follows a minimalist design with pinched rear windows for added flair. Peugeot also tweaked the tail lights to put further emphasis on the “Lion Claw” look. For those who are curious, the 3008 measures 4,510 mm long, 1,840 mm wide, and 1,620 mm tall.
Inside, Peugeot updated the i-Cockpit cabin design even better ergonomics and higher-definition screens. Speaking of that, the infotainment system was overhauled and the screen is larger than the outgoing model. Another addition is the the 12.3-inch digital head-up display, which is fully customizable and configurable.
In terms of safety, the 3008 has EuroNCAP's seal of approval with a five-star rating. Not only that, the latest generation of driving aids are standard for the local-spec model. These include Active Blind Spot Detection, Active Lane Keep Assistance, and Advanced Driver Attention Warning.
For now, there is only one variant available for the 3008 in the country. It's powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that makes 165 PS and 240 Nm of torque. The engine shifts with a six-speed automatic with manual mode. The local-spec 3008 is sourced from Malaysia and it retails for PHP 2,090,000
