Skyway 3’s Quirino Southbound Exit Now Open

Updated on July 25 2024

It used to be that motorists coming from Balintawak or Quezon City heading to Manila needed at least an hour and a half just to make the trip. And this was when traffic was light. Now, all this is about to change as San Miguel Corporation just opened the Quirino southbound exit of Skyway 3.

The elevated expressway that connects the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to North Luzon Expressway now makes traveling to Manila much faster. SMC says that a trip from either Balintawak or Quezon City to the city of Manila can now be done in just 20 minutes.

As if this isn’t enough, SMC has been touting how the Skyway 3 project cuts travel time from Makati to Balintawak to just 15 minutes. Connected to the Skyway system, a journey from Susana Heights down south to Balintawak up north can be done in as quick a time as half an hour.

The Skyway 3 is not only designed to cut travel time from South to North and vice-versa. It is likewise aimed at helping ease Metro Manila traffic woes as it gives motorists an alternative to ever gridlocked EDSA. With this, SMC hopes to reduce vehicular volume on EDSA and even C5.

Hopefully, this, along with other infrastructure projects, will be part of the solution to this long standing problem.
