All New Ford Territory Coming Soon

All New Ford Territory Coming Soon

Updated on July 25 2024

The small crossover segment is one of the most hotly contested segments in the local automotive industry. Ever since the introduction of the MG ZS and the Geely Coolray, the segment battle was between 2 Chinese-made vehicles, and for the longest time, the latter was the dominant model.

That was until Ford decided to step in and throw its hat into the ring with the current Ford Territory. The Territory offered comfort biased tendencies as well as classier looks, which was a dramatic departure from its “sportier” rivals. This led to the Territory making waves in the segment and even challenging to topple the leader.

With time having passed, the Territory is in need of a dire update. Thankfully, Ford Philippines listened, and they dropped a hint at when the all-new Territory will launch.

First things first, the all-new Territory has already been launched and is being sold in other countries like Vietnam and Cambodia. Although those vehicles are called the Equator, it is more or less confirmed that the exact same car will make its way here as the Territory.

Moving on, Ford PH a few days ago sneakily posted a teaser video on their official Facebook page. In this teaser video, only the shape of the lights was “revealed” still masking the true look of the all-new Territory. Despite hiding most of the vehicle, the striking angular shaped lights almost certainly guarantee that the Territory that will be launched here closely resembles or is an exact clone of the Equator/Territory sold in our ASEAN neighbors.

As for other details, there are none yet. We’d have to wait for the official launch to know the exact specification of the 2023/2024 Ford Territory. What we can assume though is that if the all-new Territory is launched here with an updated powertrain, we can probably get the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that makes 170 PS and 256 Nm of torque. This makes for a significant improvement over the current Territory’s engine. As for the transmission, Chinese manufacturers tend to lean towards dual-clutch systems, but a CVT would not be out of the question.

Most likely we can also expect improved technological feature updates such as wireless Apple Carplay, and more enhanced safety goodies that could rival safety systems like the Toyota Safety Sense and Honda Sensing.

Right now though, the specs are based on pure speculation. Going back to the launch date itself, with the timing of the teaser video release, Ford Philippines is most certainly aiming to launch the all-new Territory during the 2023 installment of the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), which is slated to take place sometime in April.

Fingers crossed everyone!
