METRO MANILA, June 20, 2022 – Yet another oil price hike is set for June 21, 2022, with a big jump for diesel for the third consecutive week.
Cleanfuel announced in a June 20, 2022 Facebook post that it will increase diesel prices by P3.10 a liter by 8:01 a.m. tomorrow.
This is far above the June 18, 2022 forecast by Unioil, which projected an increase of up to P2.60 a liter.
Last week, oil firms announced an increase of P4.30 a liter on diesel. The latest hike puts bigger pressure on public transportation and logistics firms, which rely heavily on diesel for their buses and trucks.
Cleanfuel also said it would implement this week a price hike of P0.80 a liter for unleaded, which is also used by tricycles, taxis and TNVS. This is also beyond the P0.60 a liter projection made by Unioil.
On June 14, 2022, fuel companies implemented a major P2.70 hike on unleaded.
