How to Renew Your Driver’s License Online in the Philippines
Updated on December 10 2025
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has launched a new digital service that allows Filipinos to renew their driver’s license online through the eGovPH app. This move is part of the government's nationwide digitalization initiative led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr., with strong support from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Secretary Vince Dizon.
Why Use the eGovPH App for Driver’s License Renewal?
With the eGovPH app, you no longer need to visit LTO branches in person. The platform allows you to complete the entire driver’s license renewal process online, saving time, reducing travel expenses, and eliminating long lines.
“This system offers a more efficient option for our clients. You won’t need to spend money on transportation or spend hours waiting at an LTO office,” said LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II.
Step-by-Step Guide to Renew Your Driver’s License Online
Before starting, download the eGovPH app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, and complete the required security verification to access your account.

What Happens After a Successful Renewal?
After completing the process, your driver’s license is officially renewed. A digital version, known as the Electronic Driver’s License (eDL), will automatically appear in the eGovPH app. This e-license is fully recognized by authorities and serves as a legal substitute for the physical card.
You can also choose a courier delivery option or pick up your physical license at your nearest LTO district office.
“These digital services make government transactions faster and more accessible for all Filipinos, including those living abroad,” added Asec. Mendoza.
