NCR back under ECQ from August 6 to 20
Updated on December 23 2024
It's another hard lockdown for those living in the National Capital Region (NCR). Metro Manila will be placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from August 6 to 20. This is according to presidential spokesperson, Harry Roque.
The reason for the strictest lockdown level is due to the threat posed by the coronavirus' most dangerous variant so far, the Delta variant. At the moment, there is no advisory regarding the provinces that border Metro Manila, namely Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.
So, what cities and municipalities will be under ECQ? These are:
Caloocan | Malabon |
Navotas | Valenzuela |
Quezon City | Marikina |
Pasig | Taguig |
Makati | Manila |
Mandaluyong | San Juan |
Parañaque | Pasay |
Pateros | Las Piñas |
Muntinlupa |
Per IATF Resolution No. 106-A, movement of people is limited to those accessing essential goods and services, those who work in essential services (medical, delivery, etc.), and other Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR). Mass gatherings are banned for the time being. Outdoor gatherings are permitted for as long as there are less that ten (10) people present.
Essential stores such as pharmacies, groceries and convenience stores shall remain open during ECQ. Dine in at restaurants and similar establishments is not allowed but take out and delivery is permitted. Malls and “non-essential” stores shall remain closed during the strictest lockdown measure. However, construction projects will still be allowed whether it is public or private.
Public transit will be at 50 percent capacity. Taxi and TNVS units may carry one passenger per row of vehicle. Motorcycle TNVS are allowed but only for APORs. Shuttle services for employees is permitted under the updated guidelines.
