This is how Kia will rebrand itself in the Philippines

Logos are a big deal for car companies. First of all,  represents their identity and philosophy, along with the vision for the brand. Take Kia, for example. They introduced their new logo in their home market of South Korea earlier this year. The company also has a new tagline to go along with it.

According to Kia, the new logo resembles a handwritten signature. Not only that, the slogan goes from “The power to surprise” to “Movement that inspires”. The reason for the change? According to the manufacturer, moving people at the core of of their company, and it will remain like that in the future.

Kia Philippines president Manny Aligada said that it also represents their shift towards alternative-powered vehicles such as electric power. He added that they will eventually roll in electric cars in the Philippines, but not right now. The new logo will be seen on their showrooms and dealerships nationwide as well.

But the new logo isn't the only highlight. Aligada also gave a glimpse of the all-new Sorento in the Philippines. That means you can expect it to arrive in local showrooms soon as a 2022 model. And yes, it will have the new logo as well.

The redesigned Sorento is the first all-new Kia to wear the new logo in the Philippines. Two variants will be available here, namely the EX and SX. Both use aa 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine with 202 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque.

Apart from that, Kia Philippines unveiled a special edition of the Stonic. Dubbed the Style edition, it features blacked-out styling elements for a sportier look. There are more exciting events from Kia down the line so expect more from the South Korean brand in the coming years.
