More Updates, Upgrades For 2022 Mazda CX-9, Starts At PHP 2,490,000

Mazda is starting 2022 by expanding their flagship crossover line-up. The model in question is the CX-9, and it gets a host of updates, upgrades, and additional variants starting this year. The mid-size crossover also gets a bit of a price adjustment as a result.

So what's new for 2022? Well, you won't find them on the outside. Instead, Mazda focused features, technologies, and interior upgrades. Inside, the most noticable changes are the larger 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, along with paddle shifters in an effort to boost driver involvement.

Not only that, the CX-9 gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as wireless charging. Last but not least is the inclusion of G-Vectoring Plus that aims to offer sharper handling and driver experience.

The company also added a new variant to the CX-9 line-up. This mid-size crossover is now available with a Black Edition. Changes are all cosmetic, but they are seen inside and out. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish, while the interior gets burgundy leather seats with red stitching on some interior parts. The Black Edition slots in between the entry-level Touring and the top-of-the-line Exclusive.

As for the rest of the car, it carries over unchanged from last year's model. The body panels are still the same, along with what's under the hood. Like before, the CX-9 uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with SkyActiv-G technology. It aims to boost fuel efficiency while delivering good power. Speaking of power, this engine puts out 231 PS and 420 Nm of torque. The Touring and Black Edition are front-wheel drive, while the Exclusive is all-wheel drive. All variants shift with a six-speed automatic transmission.
