2021 Mitsubishi Xpander Black Series now available in dealerships

The Mitsubishi Xpander has been in the Philippines since 2018. It's been one of the best-selling MPVs in the country, and it remains a popular choice after all these years. But by next week, we'll see what the facelifted version will look like.

However, there will be a model that Mitsubishi Motors Philippines will launch first. It's called the Black Series, and it's the outgoing model's last hurrah before it gets replaced. This model is now available in dealerships nationwide.

From its name, this limited-edition Xpander gets a host of gloss black trimmings. So what's been painted black for this model? The grille, dynamic shield garnish, lower bumper, fog light bezel and door mirrors get a gloss black finish. There's more for the rest of the MPV's body. Also painted are the sill garnish, door handles, panel moldings, rear lower bumper and 17-inch alloy wheels.

But what about the interior? Are there any changes? Per Mitsubishi, there was no mention of any updates for the Black Series' cabin. The Black Series slots in between the Xpander Cross and the GLS. The vehicle's equipment list is just like the one found in the GLS. That means it has LED headlights, push to start button, stability control, and cruise control.

The engine is also the same from other models. That means it will still use the familiar 1.5-liter MIVEC engine with 105 PS and 141 Nm of torque. The only transmission option available is a four-speed automatic.

Prices for the Xpander Black Series start at PHP 1,138,000. As mentioned, this is a limited-run model. Interestingly, the Black Series is also available in white.

But if you're looking for one of these for less than PHP 1,000,000, you'll have to look at the second-hand market.
