2022 Will Be An Exciting Year For Subaru Philippines

Updated on July 25 2024

Are you thinking of buying a new Subaru next year? Well, you're in luck. That's because Subaru Philippines has a lot in store for its Filipino customers nationwide. Not only are they launching a car by then, but they have four lined up for next year? What will these models be? Let's go at it one by one.

The person who confirmed it was none other than Glenn Tan, the CEO of Motor Image, the distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines. One of the four cars coming is the facelifted Forester. It was launched in Japan a couple of months ago, and it's finally coming to the Philippines. The Forester is one of the brand's top-sellers, so it's an important model. Engine specs are yet to be confirmed.

The next three cars are a bit sportier than the Forester. Up next is the WRX Wagon. That's right, Subaru Philippines is dropping the Levorg name in the country in favor now WRX Wagon. That means we're getting the high-performance model in the Philippines, which should be great for those looking for a practical car that can give some sports cars a scare.

Along with the WRX Wagon, Subaru Philippines will also launch the WRX sedan here. Not only that, Tann said we can expect the sports sedan to land here by mid-2022. Both the sedan and wagon bodies of the WRX use a turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer engine that makes 271 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It isn't known if it will be offered a CVT, a six-speed manual, or both.

Last but not least is the BRZ Coupe. There is no exact launch date yet but it is definitely coming to the Philippines. Like the WRX, the BRZ Coupe uses a 2.4-liter engine. However, it's not turbocharged but it still packs 235 PS and 250 Nm of torque.
