SMC to Start Collecting Toll Fees for Skyway Stage 3 Beginning July 12

Updated on July 26 2024

Looks like the long happy hour is finally over as San Miguel Corporation (SMC) announced that it will officially start collecting toll fees on Monday, July 12, 2021, from motorists using Skyway Stage 3 (or, Skyway 3).

The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has issued the Toll Operating Permit and the Notice to Start Collecting Toll to SMC. The Skyway 3 toll fee rates may range from Php 105.00 to Php 800.00, depending on your vehicle class and route. And while these are simply estimates, for now, SMC promised that the actual fees will be lower than those first announced.

SMC president and chief operating officer, Ramon S. Ang, stated that the revised toll fee rates have been approved by the TRB, and these will be posted for the information of the public before the start of toll collection on Monday.

Consideration to Motorists in the Ongoing Pandemic

Access to the 18-kilometer Skyway 3 has been free since the opening of some of its sections, like the Buendia to Plaza Dilao section which was opened in July 2019. This free access was given in consideration of the pandemic and how it has impacted the driving population.

SMC President Ang stated that the same consideration is being taken by SMC and TRB in determining toll fee rates that would be amenable both to the driving public as well as to the continued maintenance to ensure safe driving conditions on Skyway 3.
