The MMDA's Number Coding Scheme Still Suspended Under NCR+'s GCQ

The MMDA's Number Coding Still Suspended Under GCQ

Updated on December 07 2024

As we enter the month of June, the National Government announces that the National Capital Region, along with Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna will remain under General Community Quarantine (GCQ). In line with this, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reminds motorists that its Number Coding Scheme is still suspended during GCQ.

But Health and Safety Protocols Remain In Play

While this may mean motorists are free to take out their vehicles every day of the week without fear of being apprehended because it’s their coding day, authorities remind us to observe strict health and safety protocols.

What this essentially means is practicing social distancing, wearing of face masks and face shields, sanitizing and washing of hands whenever possible, and the like.

But while guidelines are a bit more lax, along with the suspension of the number coding scheme, authorities still remind us to avoid going out, especially to crowded places. All this is meant to protect us from the dreaded COVID-19 virus.

The GCQ and suspended Number Coding Scheme will run from June 1 to 15, 2021.
