Toyota PH Teases Raize, Opens Reservation Books

A few weeks ago, we mentioned that Toyota might be preparing to launch the Raize subcompact crossover in the Philippines soon. We even included it in our predicted launches for 2022. Now, the company has confirmed through a teaser campaign.

Toyota's preview of the new car even shows the name of the model. For now, there is no exact launch date, but the company says they will release all specs and details soon. That said, a few weeks ago, there was an alleged leak of specs and pricing, so it will be interesting to see if it lines up from the previous report.

Per the leak, it is said that the Raize will have four model variants. If the information leak was accurate, the models are the E M/T, E CVT,  G CVT, and Turbo CVT. All come standard with dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes, and stability control. Higher-spec models will have six airbags, a reverse camera with sensors, rear-cross traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring, along with a fully digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a wide infotainment touchscreen.

Most will use a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder engine, while the top-of-the-line version will pack a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo. If that's the case, the base engine is good for 88 PS and 118 Nm of torque with two gearbox options: a five-speed manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT). As for the turbo, that one puts out 98 PS and 140 Nm of torque. Reports say that version will only shift with a CVT.

As for pricing, there is no official statement from Toyota just yet. However it could range from PHP 746,000 for the base E M/T, to PHP 1,036,000 for the Turbo CVT in White Pearl. To reserve for a unit, call your nearest Toyota dealership today.
