The basics

RFID or radio frequency identification is an automatic scanning device with the employ of a tag reader. It uses electromagnet fields to identify the vehicles without making any physical contact. It is now used in tollways for cashless transactions thereby promoting efficient road passage.

The tag will trigger the RFID reader upon reaching the vicinity of the electronic radius at the toll gates. In case the toll device fails to scan your tag, simply present the card to the toll attendant for Autosweep, or tap the card on the sensor provided at the gantry for Easytrip. For this reason, it is best to always have your card ready and inside your car to avoid delays.

With an RFID account, your vehicle gets a sticker and a tag on the car, together with a card. This card, including sticker and tag, is unique and is registered to your account. RFID is non-transferable. You cannot borrow or lend another's card as it contains the owner's registered plate number and account number. If you sell the vehicle, remove the sticker, surrender it to the appropriate RFID station, and fill out a termination form.
