2022 Mitsubishi Montero Sport Black Series

Just a few days into 2022, Mitsubishi has gotten the new car launch ball rolling. Granted, it's not a totally new model, but it's an additional variant for one of their best-sellers. That vehicle is the Montero Sport, and it also gets the Black Series treatment.

Late last year, it was the Xpander and Strada that gained Black Series models. This time around, it's the SUV's turn to get the blacked-out treatment. It's also a strong sign that Mitsubishi might be getting ready to debut the next-generation models down the line. After all, Mitsubishi said that the world can expect an all-new Strada by 2022 and a redesigned Montero Sport by 2023.

Like the other Black Series models, the Montero Sport gets several gloss black highlights on its body. These include the grille, front and rear bumper trims, roof rails, and the wheels. Curiously, there is some chrome on the SUV, and it's also available in pearl white. Should the buyer get the SUV in that color, they will get a gloss black roof and tailgate spoiler standard.

The Montero Sport Black Series slots above the GT 4x2 models. Other colors are no longer available aside from Jet Black or White Diamond. For those who are curious, the latter is an extra PHP 15,000 option. The Black Series also comes with an air-conditioning system called NanoE. It filters out air impurities and can help protect the vehicle's passengers against airborne viruses. As for other features, it has adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System to prevent unintended acceleration.

The Montero Sport Black Series retails for PHP 1,981,000, PHP 53,000 more than the standard GT 4x2 variant.
