Here are the specs of the 2022 Geely Emgrand

Updated on December 14 2024

A few months ago, Geely began releasing teasers for their first sedan in the country under the new distributor. Dubbed the Emgrand, it aims to offer compact sedan comfort and amenities at subcompact prices. Now, the (not so) small sedan has begun making tours to impress the public. This is what is has to offer.

The Emgrand rides on the BMA Platform just like the Coolray. The sedan is larger than most of the cars it is targeting, measuring 4,638 mm long, 1,820 mm wide, and 1,460 mm tall. For reference, the MG5 is 4,601mm,  the Almera is 4,530mm, and the Vios is 4,425mm. The Emgrand is also slightly longer than the Corolla Altis that measures Altis 4,630mm long. There are also two variants available, namely the Comfort (base) and Premium (top of the line). Both variants have LED headlights and daytime running lights, and LED tail lights. The Premium adds larger 17-inch alloy wheels and a sunroof.

Inside, the Emgrand follows the principle of the Coolray with straight lines and a minimalist look. To make the car feel more premium, a large chunk of the cabin is finished in soft-touch materials. A wide eight-inch infotainment screen takes center stage and houses a variety of functions. Opt for the Premium and it gains two-tone leather seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and power seats for the driver's side. The cargo capacity is rated at 500 liters.

Moving on to safety features, the Emgrand has the class minimums such as Anti-lock brakes and electronic brakeforce distribution. Six airbags are also included, along with hill-start assist control, traction control, and stability control.

Powering the Emgrand is a 1.5-liter, non-turbocharged engine with dual variable valve timing. Power is rated at 102 PS and 142 Nm of torque. There is no manual transmission available and the only option is a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with eight simulated gears. The car also features three drive modes, namely Eco, Comfort, and Sport. Fuel tank size is 50 liters.

Prices are as listed below:

Emgrand Comfort: PHP 798,000

Emgrand Premium: PHP 908,000
