Here Is A Sneak Peek Of The 2022 Ford Everest

Updated on April 30 2024

By this time of the year, car manufacturers are usually winding down and getting ready for 2022. However, Ford has a little surprise to cap off 2021. Just weeks after the redesigned Ranger was launched, Ford is giving the world a sneak peek of the next-generation Everest.

Ford recently released a video showing off the all-new SUV. But they haven't taken the covers off just yet. For now, the SUV is wearing Ford's signature blue and white camouflage to hide a few more details before its launch. Much like the Ranger, we see a fair bit of the SUV, but the automaker is teasing us for now.

In the video, we see the Everest being put through its paces on and off-road. There's no extreme off-road action just yet, but we can expect Ford to roll out more scenes before the big reveal. As the the Everest in the video, it seems that the SUV featured here is a top of the line model because of its large alloy wheels.

As for the design, the front end is similar to the Ranger, but perhaps that comes as no surprise. After all, the previous Ranger and outgoing Everest share the same face. The general outline of the SUV is similar to the 2015-2021 model as well, but it is slightly more boxy in some aspects. Most noticeably, the windows appear more upright and angular. At the rear, also took an evolutionary approach but the tail lights appear more dynamic.

We can expect the interior to be similar to the all-new Ranger. That means it's likely to get the large tablet on the center stack and the digital instrument panel. All the high-tech active safety feature and conveniences found in the pick-up will surely be available in the Everest as well.

There is also little doubt that the Everest's engine options will be similar to the Ranger. If so, the base models will get the 2.0-liter EcoBlue single-turbo diesel, the 2.0-liter EcoBlue BiTurbo diesel, and the 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel. It is yet to be sure if the Everest will also be offered with a turbo-gas engine. A manual transmission is possible since the Ranger has it, too, but all these engines can be paired with a 10-speed automatic.

Since Ford has begun the Everest's teaser campaign, it won't be long before the automaker reveals all the details. As for the global debut, it might even be as early as January 2022 and the local launch might happen within the year if we're lucky.
