Mitsubishi Mirage at a glance

People stormed Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide when then launched the Mirage G4 in late 2013. It immediately became one of the company's best-sellers thanks to a number of reasons. At the time, it was also one of the most affordable sedans in the country which helped elevate its status. At the time, it was one of the cars that proved you didn't need a lot of money to get a lot of car. It was also proof that a budget car didn't have to be basic. The Mirage ushered in several firsts in its class thanks to features found in larger cars. Like the Mirage Hatchback, the G4 was given a facelift in 2016 and local production began a year after that. In 2021, the G4 received a major facelift with a redesigned front and rear end.

Good buy or goodbye?

As much as possible, we'd recommend avoiding the pre-facelift models or the ones made before 2016. Those seem to carry a fair bit of issues, and the age of those vehicles won't do it any favors. However, if you can find a good deal on one of those, make sure it's been well cared with just a few kilometers on the clock. The post-facelift and locally-assembled versions are much better to buy and to own. By that that time, Mitsubishi had ironed out most of its kinks and made the car even more solid than before. Because of that, its running and repair costs are lower, and you also feel the greater benefits of its comfortable ride, fantastic fuel economy, and wonderful maneuverability. It won't excite you, nor will it engage you, but the Mirage is a good buy for those who need a lot of car for the money. That also makes them fantastic value in the used car market.
